DISTRICT GOVERNANCE
Understanding the leadership structure, decision-making process, and official oversight of Lake Shore Central Schools.
THE BOARD OF EDUCATION
The Board is a corporate body overseeing the district's affairs. As elected volunteers, the seven members are responsible for:
- Establishing district-wide goals and vision.
- Adopting and maintaining official Board Policy.
- Developing and presenting the annual budget to voters.
- Hiring and evaluating the Superintendent of Schools.
THE SUPERINTENDENT
Serving as the Chief Executive Officer, the Superintendent is responsible for the management of day-to-day operations and staff leadership:
- Leading all instructional and non-instructional staff.
- Implementing the policies adopted by the Board.
- Advising the Board on financial and educational trends.
- Overseeing the execution of the strategic plan.
WHO DO I CONTACT?
Effective governance relies on resolving issues at the level closest to the situation. Please follow this sequence:
1. Classroom
