Onboarding Protocol

To ensure the safety of our student-athletes and maintain compliance with NYSED regulations, all volunteer coaching candidates must follow a specific seven-step appointment process.

The Appointment Process

1. Initial Interest: Candidate notifies the Athletic Office and the program's Varsity Coach.
2. Investigation: Varsity Coach reviews the individual’s background, experience, and sport-specific knowledge.
3. Recommendation: Varsity Coach provides a formal recommendation to the Athletic Office.
4. Verification: The Athletic Office verifies all mandatory NYS credentials and certifications.
5. Superintendent Review: The Athletic Director recommends a one-year appointment to the Superintendent.
6. BOE Approval: The Superintendent recommends the individual to the Board of Education for final approval.
7. Evaluation: Once appointed, non-paid coaches are monitored and evaluated by the Varsity Coach and Athletic Director.
