APRIL 20 DEADLINE

Nominating Petitions are available starting March 2. There are two seats available for three-year terms. Completed petitions are due to the District Clerk by 5:00 PM on Monday, April 20, 2026.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Eligibility: Candidates must be a qualified voter of the district, able to read and write, and must have been a resident of the district for at least one year prior to the election.
  2. Nominations: Petitions must be signed by at least 25 qualified voters of the district or 2% of the previous annual election turnout, whichever is greater.
  3. Campaigning: Candidates must file three (3) expenditure and contribution statements with the District Clerk in accordance with NYS Education Law.

ABSENTEE, EARLY MAIL & MILITARY BALLOTS

For the election on May 19, 2026, voters may apply for absentee or early mail ballots through the District Clerk’s Office:

  1. Availability: Applications are available starting Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at the High School (959 Beach Road) between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  2. Deadlines: Completed applications must be received by May 12 (if mailed to voter) or May 18 (if delivered personally).
  3. Military Voters: Applications for military ballots must be received by the District Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 23, 2026.
