Whipped Cream and School Spirit: Pie Day Fundraiser at WGH Middle School

A "Sweet" Success for the 7th Grade Class
ANGOLA, NY – Things got a little messy last Friday at William G. Houston Middle School, but it was all for a great cause. The 7th-grade class advisors hosted their "Pie Day 2026" fundraiser, giving students the chance to purchase raffle bracelets for the ultimate prize: the opportunity to pie their favorite teachers in the face.
During three packed lunch periods, the winners were called down to the cafeteria to deliver the goods. The atmosphere was electric as students cheered on their classmates and teachers took the hits with smiles (and plenty of whipped cream).
The Hit List
The action kicked off at 11:05 AM with the Grade 6 crew. Emma Irrgang and Avey Harlach both landed direct hits on Mr. Agro, while Maeve Schamberger took aim at Mr. Chiappone.
At 11:50 AM, the Grade 7 winners stepped up. Cody Carlin targeted Mr. Ziobro, Saige Butts added a third pie to Mr. Agro’s tally, and Jacob Phillips made sure Mr. Piede didn't miss out on the fun.
The event wrapped up at 12:35 PM with Grade 8. Fallyn Lawn and Grayson Mauerman went back-to-back on Mr. Piede, and CJ Masseri delivered the final pie of the day to Mr. Ziobro.
Final Scorecard
While every teacher was a winner for their bravery, the final counts were:
-
Mr. Agro & Mr. Piede: 3 pies each
-
Mr. Ziobro: 2 pies
-
Mr. Chiappone: 1 pie
The district would like to extend a massive thank you to our incredible staff members for being such good sports and to the students and families who supported this fundraiser. Funds raised will go toward 7th-grade class activities and future events.
