ECMC Healthcare Explorers Summer Internship 2026

Lake Shore Central Schools is proud to partner with the ECMC Foundation to offer an immersive summer internship for students entering grades 10, 11, and 12. The Healthcare Explorers program provides meaningful, hands-on exposure to a wide variety of medical careers at the region’s only Level I Adult Trauma Center.
Students will "test-drive" professions in areas such as Surgical Services, Emergency Medicine, Pharmacy, and Transplantation. This competitive program is a fantastic way to enhance college applications while networking with dedicated healthcare professionals.
Program Highlights:

Cost: Completely free of charge.

Duration: Two-day sessions from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

Included: Breakfast, lunch, a t-shirt, and a program notebook.

Support: Two NFTA day passes provided for those needing transportation assistance.

How to Apply: Enrollment is capped at 90 students district-wide, with priority given to seniors. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received and must be submitted electronically by April 30, 2026. Requirements include an online application, one letter of recommendation, and a 90-second video entry.
