Community Input Requested: 2026-27 Student Code of Conduct

ANGOLA, NY — The Lake Shore Central School District is officially opening the public comment period for the proposed 2026-2027 Student Code of Conduct, seeking direct feedback from families to ensure our schools remain safe, focused, and rooted in "Eagle Pride."
As part of our commitment to being "One Lake Shore," we review this guiding document annually to reflect the evolving needs of our student body and the community. The proposed draft maintains our high standards for character and responsibility while introducing proactive measures to address the rapid growth of classroom technology.
While the core values of the Lake Shore Experience remain unchanged, the District has identified two primary areas for refinement:
- Emerging Technology: Building on our existing internet-enabled device policy, new language proactively addresses devices such as AI-integrated eyewear to maintain academic integrity.
- Chromebook Care Procedures: To encourage responsible digital citizenship and preserve district resources, we are introducing a new procedural framework for the care and repair of student devices.
We encourage all parents, guardians, and community members to review the draft document linked below. Your perspective is vital in ensuring this Code supports all students effectively. Following the 14-day review period, all submissions will be evaluated by the Code of Conduct committee before the final draft is presented to the Board of Education for adoption.
